You flatter me...I'm just good at researching everyone else's experiences! But I can read my way round a wiring diagram!

Just a quicky to follow on from the rear speaker installation. I have attached a couple of pics to show how and where I have installed the speakers in the rear doors. Surprisingly they do sound pretty good down there - I wasn't sure they were doing that much until I set the fader fully forward and noticed the difference straight away. The spacer in the picture is the same one as fitted in the front under the dash and is fitted with the thicker side downwards. Its part number is AMR3840

I had intended to fit the speaker on the top part of the door but there is a panel behind the trim which meant this was not possible. The cables run from the back of the CD player behind the dash (left speaker to the left, right speaker to the right), up the A pillar behind the trim and under the head lining. Down the B pillar and through the rubber trunking into the door.

A very neat looking install.

What size hole did you have to cut in your door card? Was the hole for the speaker itself or just for the cable?

I cut a hole the size of the inside diameter of the spacer. You need a space opened up behind the speaker for it to generate a sensible bass level. I just drew my circle, drilled lots of holes around the circle then cut the card with a Stanley knife.
