Stanford le hope
Hello,I am Brian from Stanford-le-hope in Essex.I own an old,2001,Freelander 2.5 V6 sport which is my first Land Rover(I am 65 years old,so I have waited a long time for this!!).It has a few faults, but moe of that later.

My Freelander V6 has recently developed a fault and I wonder if anyone has encountered this fault before? There is a small leak from the auto box and I think it is linked to a small leak from the coolant. When the auto box fluid reaches a certain low level the vehicle develops Kangaroo hops when changing gear.If I top up the auto box fluid it is ok again until the level falls again due to the leak.I have read somewhere that if the auto fluid and coolant are leaking together it could be a cooler?Where is this cooler and can I fix/repair it myself or is it a major job,eg gearbox or engine removal?I have seen replacement auto boxes advertised for £2000,more than I paid for the car!!Thanks in anticipation.
