when i turn on the ignition and start engine i get a sort of ticking, pulsing sound from the fuel pump in the tank, if i turn off ignition and then restart engine this noise normally dissapears, if i dont restart ignition, i can drive for miles without hearing the noise from intank pump, but when i stop and listen carefully i can then hear it, so what i tend to do is start engine, then switch off, then restart so as not to get this noise.
i phoned landrover and they said its normall for the pump to make a pulseing sound and not to worry,, but it must be a fault for the noise to go after i restart,, freelander drives like a dream, its just bit of a pain this ticking ,pulsing sound,, just wondering wheather anyone else come across this before i start stripping things down,,,,
ive been in the motor trade for 25 years so not a novice, never had this before...
