Starting Problem - 97 Disco 300Tdi

Can anyone offer any advice?
My 97 300 series TDi Disco is suffering badly from a starting problem.
Periodically go to start Disco and there's nothing,plenty of iginiton lights, life in battery etc, but when you turn ignition zero, no clicks, no dimming nothing.
I've replaced starter and solenoid - No resolve.
Checked earth straps and even added new one for good measure - No resolve.
Checked for fuel blocks, cleared lines, change fuel filter - No joy.

Am I going insane or what.
The strange thing is that the only way I can replicate the fault is if I open car with remote and leave for a while for immobiliser to kick in, basically same problem with teh ecpetion that immobilser warning light flashes and alarm arming led is on.
Could it be teh immobiliser staying on but without warnign lights dispalying??

Sounds like you have an alarm fault.

If you look about this forum under the Discovery forum you will find 2 I think other threads that I have posted on latly regarding the fix for this problem, I would link you to them or type it out again but I don't have much time...

Maybe later if you still havn't found it.

I had the exact same prob on my Disco, and after the fix its been fine, this was 2/3 years ago.
