Wouldn't have been that many as the P38 was basically out by then.

Personally, I've never seen the desire as I think the dash now looks incredibly dated and stuck well in the 90s with a heavy touch of Austin Metro. They haven't the classic charm of the badly made and stuck together original dash's.

Hey, don't knock till you try it, its got stereo and heating controls you can operate while driving and cup holders that actually, and unbelievebly for a Rangie, hold cups!!

Admittedly styling of the dash I can take or leave but ergonomiclly it was light years ahead of the RRC and better than the P38 in this respect too.

When looking to buy a car, I initially preferred the hard dash.

However, up close, it was the hard dash that reminded me of the Metro, with its instrument binnacle, stalks and buttons.

I now prefer the soft dash and think it looks ok.

OP - I'm not sure how many soft dashs were made.

I wasn't looking for a soft dash but got one anyway.
Its certainly a more modern look and has airbags (if they still work!) which may come in handy one day. Perhaps not as classic but I'm happy.
Can't be that many although reg date is nothing to go by as there seem to be plenty of 94 cars that are hard dash especially the autobiography ones - I guess they took a while to fettle.

Rangerovers.net 1995 model year page says 6746 were built.

I try not to get too hung up on the dash style. It's the Morris Marina door handles that trouble me more

Nout wrong with them - flush door handles make sense with a proper 4wd,less to get wiped off in the woods.
Call me old fashioned, really dont care.BUT apart from the centre cubby box being more sturdy in a soft dash I far prefer the old "Hard" dash.Having owned multiples of both and earnt a living working on literally hundreds of both - the old type is the best.Fuel costs aside the 93 vogue SE 3.9 on EAS is still the best all round car I've ever driven - certainly the most comfy, the seats were different on the soft cars, the base is too short - no good for long journeys.Chocolate leather, heated and a walnut dash.A nice place to be.Never could get the rear wipe switch on the soft ones.
