Just buying a soft a bar to fit the freelander.

I can get a genuine LR one for £157 or what I am assured is an exact good quality copy from MM 4x4 for £97

Anyone any experience of these copies ?? are they any good - are they exact copies ?

or should I pay the extra for the genuine article ??

I'm swaying that way. Been studying the pics and the copys just don't seem to sit the same. Suppose I can just tell the wife its a cheap copy !

its allways the same i find wen you look at other peoples cars you can always tell wen they have non genuine accesories fitted they just look cheaper,

and as the old saying goes , you buy cheap you buy twice :)

What year is yours?

A friend of mine has an a-bar for the facelift Freelander. He never got around to fitting it and no longer has the vehicle. It's a genuine part but will only fit the facelifted models. I think he has the light pods as well.

Let me know if it will fit yours and you could end up with bargin!

Cheers

Ah, well, keep looking.

If anyone else in interested in an abar and lamp pods let me know and I will find out the part numbers.

i got the aftermarket one for my freelander after a monkey munched on mine at longleat.it was an arse to fit and when i finally got it to sit level i then discovered that it is slightly narrower than the genuine part so the spot light pods would not fit on properly. so i sent it back and got a genuine one
so a day out at longleat ended up costing me about 300 quid.
