seat belt help

Hi all can anyone tell me how to unlock a seat belt when it has fully retracted ? When I took them out at the start of the rebuild I never gave it a thought and they all wound in as far as they can now I can't pull them back out

have looked for a release mechanism but can't find one or is it a case of buy new ones .

hold it as it would bolt down (ie the base flat), and it should unravel. It's the inertia that locks the seat belt, so if it's tipped a different way it can lock.

Belts that have been let to retract all the way can be difficult as the belt needs to retract a little more to release the catch before it will come out,has to be done with base level as gse1986 say's.

Iirc 5 degrees from horizontal causes them to lock, ****es me right off in the D3.
