I have a pair of these on my car but they seem a bit opaque of fogged up inside...Are they sealed units?
can i clean the inside of the glass?
also do the stone guards come off or are they part of the main housing?

Thanks in advance!

Are they the Safari 5000 lamps? i.e genuine accessory part number STC8480?

On these the stone guards do unclip!
I will find out about fogging issues and get back to you!

how do you unclip the stone guards on them? I cant see anywhere where they could unclip from.... they are the genuine 5000 series lamps factory fitment.

Pull the grey mesh part with your fingers, that is the part that comes off.

They are not sealed beams, remove the bulb and insert a duster wrapped around something that is flexible (dont) with some glass cleaner on the duster.

Clean around the inside of the glass.

The other method is to remove the lamp and immerse it in hot water with plenty of detergent and shake well, rinse with clean water and put on a radiator to dry.

I tried the latter (washing) bu the haze is still there...I think it may be some sort of oxidation on the glass .. I used a the end of a wooden spoon to see if it would scrape away and it did...next, got an old toothbrush melted the end and bent it 90 degrees, and went to town with some. CIF. Came up like new! I cant see how the lenses can be replace they look as if they are bonded in with something?
