I have 2 patches of rot on my chassis on plan B and was wondering roughly how much I should look to pay to get it done any ideas? They are both on the inside faces just behind the spring hangers basically where the mud sits in the Tub mounts so fairly easy to get to.

Welding hard to quote on as it depends on the surrounding metal and what you find once you start cutting back, I would suspect about £150 but could possibly get a bit more expensive...

Your best bet is to get all the rust muck and crap off yourself and grind the area up ready, 2 reasons, 1 you can see before he starts the job what needs doing and saves those nasty look mate i had to do this and that so im gonna have to charge you 150quid more, 2 the more prep work you do will make the bill cheaper :)

dunno what yer been quoted but round these parts the usual rule of thumb at the moment is about £65 for a patch the size of a creddit card

this is why i can undercut most garages round here :D:D

Spoke to my commercial garage today and said I'd prepare the area back to good metal the look on his face was a picture went from oh god welding to oh good welding with no F cking about so thanks chaps sounds like a plan! :D

That's what a welder told me. He hates the cleaning only to find there is a lot more and he has to tell the customer who may think that he's at it.
