Hi, anyone know if the Disco 1 rear seatbelt tie rods can be easily removed and replaced with the floor in place?

As long as we are thinking of the same mountings, then yes. The rear belt mountings actually go through the floor and mount to the chassis. They are only retained on the floor to stop them wobbling about. And you should be able to remove them.

Its the bit under the floor that attaches to that plate you are referring to that I am on about. The actual bit that bolts to the chassis.

Big torx bit and a drill for the rivets to get it off the floor or leave it on the floor and remove the split pin and washer from the securing pin and that separates the boot floor from the chassis, the eye bolt is best undone while attached to the bracket on the boot floor as they are always rusted to buggery.

Thanks. Thats what I was thinking. Is there sufficient space to remove the eye bolt when the nut is removed and floor in place. I have a2" lift if that makes a difference?

Yes, the eyebolt goes through a rubber grommet and you just pop that out and there is plenty of wiggle room to get them out.

I got the tie out along with the plate that bolts to the floor. the eye bolt pin that holds the bracket is totally seized into the eye bolt an diff tried everything to hammer it through to no avail. Any ideas? I need to weld a short crack in the flor and then try to reassemble this. A new eyebolt is an option but Id rather use this one if I can. Hate being defeated by a sodding eye bolt.

I took mine to task when I took the old floor out, you could zip through the eyebolt and then drop the bracket, beat the pin out of the eye an bracket, weld a bit of thread rod on it and refit it as per with new nyloc nut.
