Rear HD springs.

Yay, a suspension thread!
Hopefully, ahem, nice and simple. Need to replace the sagging springs on the OneTen, the self-leveller definitely doesn't do what it's supposed to anymore. My wallet likes the look of Bripart standard height HD rear springs, unless anyone has any other options and that price point?
Also, I replaced the shocks about 1 year ago, they are Boge rtc4639 for non-levelling 110, I assume these are HD? Or will I need to upgrade these too?

I'm no expert here but I would suggest you look into this HD spring business in more detail. A friend of mine had some fitted on his 90 and the ride was unbearable. I would only consider looking into HD springs if I was constantly carrying heavy loads.
I have the original springs on my 1990. 110 military spec Defender and they work fine for me.

You can get progressive rear springs... which would be a better option.... the more they compress the tougher they are.

Your original 90 will probably have heavier springs as I believe that's before self levelling was fitted ?

Thanks, I do load up quite often and pull a trailer regularly too. I was thinking of progressive springs, but I can't find much info about them. A non-levelled 110 would have HD from the factory.

I've thought about progressives, couldn't find much info about them, or I did and they were too expensive! Can't remember which.
I've got a OneTen, not 90. Ninetys didn't have self-levellers, only OneTen SW.

The station Wagon had regular springs. (not HD) and a Self levelling unit (Boge). The self levelling unit pumps up as weight is added.

I would assume those sold after the self levelling crapola wasn't fitted would have had HD or progressive.

We're crossing wires here! The self-levelling units were not fitted to the "Defender", hence why I asked "tdi era onwards". I seem to recall the 110 SW springs being progressive (although they may not be marketed as such), hard tops and pick-ups had HD.
Edit: referring to '91 onwards.

I have Disco springs on mine and the rears are progressive, tighter coils one end for soft ride but firm with weight in or car trailer on (wont fit 110 though sorry)
I had HD springs on my 110 but found the empty ride to be very harsh

Mate ahs just fitted britpart hd springs and terrafirma std height gas shocks to the rear of two 300 discos, both owners reckon much better as they tow a lot, he reckons so good hes going to do his own disco as well.

My 90 is a lot lighter than a Disco and is perfect with disco springs, sits down very little at the back with two ton+ trailer on

Cheers Lynall, I don't tow all the time, so am also thinking progressives, just need to do more research on them. Probably will end up getting yellow BP ones.

Straight swap on 90 and doesn't matter which way up they are

Disco tow ball is set further back from the back axle than a 90 so more weight on back axle and lift on the front axle, 90 weight is better distributed with trailer on

Thanks! Some people are adamant that it does make a difference which way up, I'm pretty sure on Land Rover it doesn't make a difference!
