hi there, does anyone have a picture/explanation of the warning lights on the p38 dash? my husbands 'baby' is showing a warning light but he is unsure of what it means. (I haven't got round to buying him a 'haynes' yet).

Assume he hasn't got the Owners Manual?? Perhaps you could describe the "picture" for us so we could help....or download the owners manual via the internet? A search on here for the RAVE cd which you can download and burn to CD, or buy on ebay for a few quid, will enlighten your hubby about such things....

oops, yes it would have helped if i had described the 'icon'.
it is like an upwards arrow, with a U on top of it.
i did buy him the RAVE cd at the beginning of the week, but he hasn't got round to checking it all out yet!!!

have checked with 'husband' - but until he manages to get out of bed (he has had a bad bout of man flu), he cannot remember exactly what other icons it is next to. as i have a bit of spare time today, i am going to have a good look on the RAVE cd.
have a good weekend everyone!!!!!! i think the sun is going to be paying a visit!!!!

more info-the warning light only comes on when the 'husband' has given it a quick blast down the motorway, and it is an amber light. it does not appear all the time! i have had a look through the RAVE cd, but cannot find anything. anyone else had this problem??? cheers

hi, ive just looked in the owners manual and i presume yours is a diesel as the icon you describe is only found on them. Its the diesel version of an engine check light. The manual quotes: " The light illuminates when the starter is turned to position 2(ignition) as a bulb check and extinguishes when the engine is running. illumination at any other time indicates an engine fault."
