Range Rover Sport 2014 Petrol vs Diesel

Hello;
I am thinking about buying a new Range Rover Sport 2014 HSE model. I have sorted out most of the options but still couldnt decide about the engine type to buy either V6 Diesel or V6 Petrol.

Petrol sounds very nice like a sports car. I liked it. But on the paper it shows some excessive fuel consumption compared to diesel.

Which one would you go for and why ?

If you can afford the car and the depreciation, you don't care about the fuel consumption.

I've driven both.

The 3.0 SDV6 diesel was fantastic. Very smooth and effortless.
The 5.0 SC petrol was refined violence at its absolute best. Utterly amazing.

I've driven the 3.0sdv6 the 5.0sc and the 4.4v8 diesel get the v8 diesel if you want economy or the 5.0v8 school if you love the loud pedal!!!!!!!!

We've got the sdv6 in out D4 its an amazing engine. Loads of power and good economy id love a TDV8 though the petrol V8 is a monster but none of them are slow

Our Company Disco is the SDV6 and that can lift her skirt and trot along with a good turn of speed...the Company Puma powered Deffie 90 is quite lively when prompted!

Then again my 4.0 V8 P38 has P38 Diesel Performance with a V8 soundtrack....so anything is spritely in comparison!

That being said, my 4.4 V8 M62 L322 is pretty rapid for such a big arsed bitch!
