Thanks Shane
Putting the ZF5hp24 in would be a waste of time it's almost as fragile as the GM unit.Well update on gearbox, it's now give up the ghost . So my question is has anyone thought about or done a Zf gearbox to the TD6? if this is at All possible and what's involved in the conversation?

You what Pardon Did you say somethingDeffo. I think I've gone deaf.
But what about the dimensions between the gearbox and the torque converter mounting plate?its a bmw engine, all bmw engines of that age have the same gearbox bolt pattern
well when i was researching fitting the manual i was told they are all interchangeable, the fly in the ointment would be the length of the box, any difference would move the transfer box and need adapted props, plus ecus would be different if using autoBut what about the dimensions between the gearbox and the torque converter mounting plate?
