Price of a new 110 Utility

Get an older one mate, one with a 200 or 300 TDi engine, will last a lifetime, and appreciate!

Totally agree, why buy a new one that depreciates as soon as you drive it off the forecourt when you can get a 2nd hand one for thousands less that will never lose you money:confused:.
 
Wel, the 200Tdi is a simpler engine, no ECUs, the Defender of the time is easy to drive and comfortable, and can include up to 12 seats, its a no brainer.

adymanchester, where abouts do you live? as ormondstreet was the name of the steet I used to live, in the Hulme area of manchester, many years ago (long since demolished)
 
I already have a 110 v8 station wagon and a 110 td5 double cab, but would be swapping the wifes A4 for the Utility, hence more of a new family car.

I wouldn't buy a new defender... I cant even find an Ncap rating for them... do they have 2 airbags? Any safety features? For me, they are hugely overpriced for what they are. I am a fan of the older ones only... I get 31 mpg on a run... the new ones may do 27mpg. New model due out in 2012?

PS... if you find your best deal is 400 miles away, take the quote to your local dealer and ask if he will match. I have done it twice with VW and both times they matched it. May work with Land Rover?
