photographs

I'm surprised at how few of these threads come with photographs.

In these days when almost everyone has a digital camera or a phone with one built in can I suggest that you go out at the first opportunity and take loads of photos of your car. Not just nice pictures as if you're going to sell it but pictures of the modifications that you have made, the problems that you are going to repair 'some day', the more unusual the better. Even a pattern of holes where you've removed something might be useful if the car is ever found.

Assume that the thief is going to remove any external modifications, re-spray it, change the VIN plate and the wheels, how could you quickly and easily prove that it's yours and give us something to look out for when we see one?

Brilliant idea...sadly unless you have a time machine it's too late for me.

could that give the thievin twots summat to go off when removing all proof of originality tho? or even a place to look for ones to steal?
