Part identity help !!!

Hi all
I’m on with a build and have been rebuilding the engine discovery 200 tdi. And box. Lt77 s suffix H. Needed room before I strip transfer box. so I’ve bolted them up and put the in the chassis. But. when I’ve been tidying up I’ve found a part I can’t remember at all where it’s off ! Hoping it’s not out the box. I’ve been through the workshop manual and can’t see it but that’s not to say it isn’t pictured. Some stuff still to do on the engine. But nothing springs to mind. Looks a bit like the spool retainer on the box but it’s not. Has a machined dowel on the back so it locates into something. Bolts down with what looks like m6. And a slott about 6mm wide on the other end. And either locks or guides something. Any ideas would be much appreciated
