As a question.. where did you get your comms cable for the EAS. if you cant verify the quality of the cable a duff connection will give you spurious signals and inconsistent readings and probably wont clear the faults allowing the EAS to function!
I have got 2 cables which I know has worked on another computer
and a p38.
I have dug a bit deeper with the drivers in my computer..i have deleted and reinstalled the drivers plus there is a setting where you can adjust the comm port settings to help with connection problems so will have another look tomorrow.

I had that with the software for the 928.. had to faff with the comms ports it ended up showing 33 comms ports and ended up having to remove them back to 3 for it to function.

As Wammers said, until you have a solid connection with the EAS software, you're really just shooting in the dark.

If you are using a USB to Serial adaptor, odds on it's a problem with that.
That's what I am using...I had it working the first time I ever used it but now it wont..anyway ive had a day off from it so going to crack on again today..just waiting for the laptop to charge up and see what happens.

Right update...tried several times this morning to get laptop and software to work..epicfail..plugged it into my other p38 and works fine so I know lead and software are ok....so I must have a problem where the lead plugs into the car...what am I looking out for and how do I get behind the plug to check connections?

But as established.. the compressor works when you wire directly to it.

The thermal switch is £9. As wammers said, Replace the thermal switch and come back. We're trying to help you, but skirting around the issue and not trouble shooting is just leading you around in circles.

It doesn't matter if your comms port is working or not .. the pump isn't going to work until the suspect thermal switch is replaced.

Not yet...trying to get this working first before I decide to do that...loads of people pm'd me saying it was pointless laying out money till I get this sorted and see what faults it throws up..

Do all the people who PM'd you know what they are talking about? There are no fault codes for the compressor circuit.

:rolleyes:This is what happens when you have two posts running at the same time !!!! You stated that you had trillions of faults showing when you ran the software which I told you was probably bad comms. Then you were going to buy another ECU, I told you don't bother till you sorted your comms out, probably the plug socket/wiring. Don't know what pm's you have had but the course of action would be as advised, sort out the thermal switch and your comms'

I'm new to this too, but when I bought mine it would not get up to ride height unless I left the door open for a while until the compressor became primed enough to raise up. I replaced the piston head seal inside the compressor and now it works perfectly.
