P38 suspension fault?

Right folks,

I know P38 suspension faults are very very common and I've tried to have a look around here again but I'm not the most clued up when it comes to computers or forums.

but wasn't much use.

I was driving my rangie the other night when the "suspension up" arrow thing came on on the dash along with a beep.

All of the lights for the different suspension heights started flashing then just stayed on solid and the dash read EMS fault.

The suspension hasn't sagged and still seems to be in the same position it was in.

I dont have software or the required hardware to try any diagnostics.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I apologise in advance if this has been covered many times but I can't seem to find what I need and I'm afraid to drive it in case I damage something..

sounds like a soft fault and should clear on its own

however you are going to run into problems should you, sorry "when" you get a hard fault and have to reset the suspension after a bumpy ride home on the bumpstops
 
When mine developed something similar it was a corroded connector behind left side cover of left footwell that needed a bit of contact cleaner. The connector relays EAS dash switch cables to EAS computer under the front left seat. As my car is left hand drive, there could be a different connector location on your car.

Mine was LHF sensor that was causing the issue

having access to the software is much easier and will work out cheaper, than pestering a garage or main stealer

No P38 owner should be without... or even leave home without ...Datateks cables and software. Don't cost much and save an arm and a leg.
No connection just a much relieved and grateful customer.

This has been suggested to me before about the cables and software from Datatek for a different problem which may well become a requirement, as I say though... This is about the extent of my computing expertise, how easy is the software/program to set up and run/use? I can't even fix basic problems with my laptop if I'm honest..

It's not cleared on it's own, that much I can say. But at the same time, doesn't seem to be causing any problem...

Is there anyone near the Fife area that could possibly lend a hand in locating the fault without breaking the bank? Especially at this time of year?

CO467 and CO469 same location on all vehicles. Different CO number on 1999 changed again 2000. But same location just less wires go through it.

It's gone into fault mode, sooner or later it will drop you to the bump stops. Fault may be just a height sensor playing up but you won't know without diagnostics.
