Hi all. Just bought my first Rangie after lusting after one for about 20 years. It's a 2000MY 4.6 Vogue. Needless to say the reliability issues didn't sway me one bit and look forward to the "challenges" of Range Rover ownership. I am now going through the list of minor faults which need fixing. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience of this? The HVAC control unit display is blank although it is illuminated and everything works fine. After about 20 minutes the display comes to life and is then fine for the rest of the day no matter how many times the vehicle is stopped and started. Left overnight, the same thing happens. I don't really want to change it unless I have to and was wondering if there is a repair that can be done?

Sorry if this sounds cynical, but I hope your pockets are deep and your skin thick!;)

As Chabrolly said, it will be the connections to the screen. As it gets cold the connections inside the HeVAC panel will contract and break contact with the circuit board. As the interior heats up when you drive the connections get warm, expand a bit and it all works again.

You really need to replace the HeVAC panel to sort this problem out :(

Thanks for the advice guys. I suspected it may be better to change it. Not bothering me to much at the moment as everything works OK, just cant see that it is working. Already been fixing a few bits and pieces but nothing major so far.(I am certain it won't last long). I am really enjoying driving the vehicle and being a Land Rover owner for the first time. All that might change the first time the air suspension packs in in the middle of a cold and wet night!!
