Hi and welcome.

I am about 3 weeks in to ownership of mine and I am liking it a lot. It's an 01 TD4 5 door with 133k miles.

In that time I have learned all about the VCU and done a One Wheel Up Test. It looks like my VCU is OK for now, but it will be checked every now and then. You really need to know about the VCU so this forum and Google are your friends there.

I have also learned from a man in a garage full of Defenders in various states of repair that Freelanders are pretty good for not rusting underneath. Which is good for me as I hate rust. And bad for me if I ever progress to Discovery/Defender ownership.

I saw in your other thread that you have a glowplug stuck and I replied there. Good luck with that.

Hi Bandit...lol the propshaft was removed yesterday..due to the VCU/Prop bearing..i love it..only problem left to solve is the stubborn glow :)

We already knew about the prop before we brought it, obviously the gp we weren't aware of until we tried removing it ...everything else is all good though :)
