Newbie looking for some help.

Looking to get into off roading, just got a freelander mark 1 2004 model. I want to change for either some mud or all terrain tyres, standard 15 inch steel wheels on the FL what are the biggest tyres that i can get on without having to lift and with no rubbing. Also I waant to fit Front headlamp guards on, I've been made away theres some modifications to make but just wondered if someone could either scan a installation document or give me an idea of what needs to be done to fit them.

If ye're gettin' the light gaurds new then they'll come with instuctions and a template for where to drill. Might be an idea to try and get 16" rims as there's more choice of tyres and it gives ye a little bit of lift as gaylanders are pretty crap off road.

Thanks Bustersbus. I wasnt sure what was involved. Seeing as I'll change them now is it better to go to 17" rims or is 16" the best option?
