Hi everyone
I've just joined this site as I've now sold my BMW740 & i'm now looking for a late RR Vogue.

I'm just asking if there's anything i need to know when looking at them apart from the usual checks when buying a used motor.
Thanks Jason

Hi
I'm looking at about £4-5K as my budget so a late 2001/2 P38 is what I'm looking at, I like the L322 but the're still out of my price range.

Welcome to the moneypit club! :)

Plenty of "what to look for" buying threads on here ... have a search.

The EAS Suspension is probably the biggie to watch out for as well as any signs of overheating, blown gaskets etc

Are you loking for a V8 or a Diesel?

As the p38 is getting on a bit the "common faults "tend to be much more affordable fixes these days .Easier said than done i know but its all about getting a good one .Take your time and get one with as much history and as few owners as possible .

Thanks for the advice
I'm looking for a 4.6 as it will be my weekend car (have a company van for everyday use)
I'll probably get it LPG converted at some point in the future,
Does colour make a difference?
My BM was Epsom Green with Black leather
I'm looking at a couple on Autotrader
Ones Dark Grey
Ones metalic Red both have the light cream interior which is what i'm after
I know its personal choice but are there any colours to avoid?
Thanks Jason

Colour is very much a personal thing.

If I was you, I would find a V8 that had already been LPG cnverted by a reputable company and came with the certificates etc ... LPG kits do not come cheap and if you are only going to use this as a weekend driver, it is going to be many years before you recoup the cost in petrol cost savings ...

Good Luck!

If your thnking of lpg buy one already done, it wont make much difference in the purchase price but will save you the £1500ish a conversion will cost, you will never recoup the layout if its only a weekend drive. look for sequential multipoint rather than singlepoint.

jason ,tell us where you are maybe on of us can go with you to give you some good advice ,also i know joe at EMMOTTS OF COLNE has a maroon one with all cream interior and a nice looking car for sale give him a ring and maybe e-mail u some photos ,, cheers tell him mozz told u to ring him hes atop guy to deal with ,,cheers mozz

I've got a 51 plate Vogue which is black with ivory leather and as things have become tight recently i'm leaning towards selling it but it would be more than your budget at 8.5k. Still it is mint, no faults and running perfectly and only 63k miles and has 12 month MOT.

Paid 7.5k for it less than a year ago and have spent 3k on a new BRC LPG conversion with books/receipts and extra 2 yr guarantee, new shocks all round, new airbags all round, new 110amp battery with guarantee, new windscreen, steering damper, o2 sensor, anti roll bar bushes. I've also spent alot of time detailing the paintwork so that it gleams and the leather interior has been supaguarded and gliptoned.

I know 8.5k is alot for a P38 these days but you get what you pay for. Anyway sorry about the inadvertant pitch but you can blame the government/public sector financial squeeze! I'll advertise it properly in the correct forum when I'm 100% that its going.
