Try Footman James mate on a classic policy - they have been good for me as a young driver.

Cheers guys, Dad's got It on a classic policy so gunna ring up and see how much extra It Is to add me on :)

Will be used as a road vehicle aswell as a bit of play with me so no cutting the back off although that could be fun! If I do Insure It I'll probably end up changing It back to a hardtop eventually..

Not quite sure, might have to wait untill next year because I need a car that will sit on the Motorway comfortably to get me to and from my Army base which Is 3 and a half hours each way..

Bringing back an old thread again... I'm finally getting insured on it this week! :D
Needs to have a new exhaust fitted and the belt's tightened as it doesn't seem to charge (could be alternator?) and the power steering's a bit 'dodgy'

Butch :D

Picked the Landy up today and drives a lot better than before now after a new exhaust and the belts tightening (power steering actually works! :D ) Only a temporary fix though, need to get a 200tdi Alternator, power steering pump and brackets fitted when I've got the spare cash...

A friend of mine gave me a roof bar to go ontop of the cab which will be handy when carrying ladders etc :)

Update... If anybody's interested!
I took it off the road as it was playing up and being my only car meant it was getting on my nerves breaking down every day... With the same problem lol!
It could be fine for a week or it could break down three times in one bloody day... Was an easy fix, just cracked the bleed bolt on the fuel filter housing (suspected air leak?) but then it would just happen again. Had new lift pump, fuel filter, had ALL the lines checked... The garage couldn't find anything wrong! So I'm picking up a new fuel tank in a few days to fit this weekend.

Which leads to a question... I'll undoubtedly have to grind some bolts off, so may as well replace them all. How many and which bolts do I need to replace the fuel tank?

I also am hoping to pick a powersteering pump up as the one I've got now makes horrible noises and barely works (had a leak and got ran dry)

After that I'm going to change all the oils as well as belts.
