P38A Need some help

Should be Imperial bolts unless someone has put Britpart on, in which case they might be metric.

The back is the bolt and the front is the nut? So propshaft socket should do? Otherwise hammer a smaller socket on ... Or could you maybe undo from rear but jam the front with a screwdriver or molegrips?
