Hi folks
I am in need of some advice from the experienced owners. Have 2017 DS Manual at 74k miles. Last service was done at 68k last year. Timing chain was done 5 months ago at 71k. Last week service light came on so went to the garage, oil was diluted and so done oil and filter and the garage reset service at 19000. This was 8 days ago. Have not done any motorways since then but did short journeys everyday. Now service mileage is showing around 17000. Bit confused as not done 2000 in a week. What am I doing wrong and what can I do to improve. I put some redex dpf cleaner hoping if that helps.

Don't do short journeys. The excess diesel accumulated in the oil over that 8 days is equivalent to 2000miles off your oil service interval.

The packaging of the i4 ingenium diesel in LR models means the dpf is too far downstream to get hot enough to carry out a meaningful passive regen. Take it a good long run regularly to allow the dpf to do its thing or better still, buy a petrol.

Redex is cack, I'd be careful adding any diesel treatment tbh but if you really feel the need to, use a quality brand like wynns or fortè. You really need to avoid constant short journeys

Thanks so much. Very informative. Will need to take for a blast every weekend.
