Hi all.

Got a 2001 V6 which runs rough on tickover. When put on the diagnostic computer it showed misfires on cylinders 3 and 5 when idling.Anything above those revs and it seems to clear itself. Have fitted new plugs and H.T. leads without sorting it. Would appreciate any help in finding the cause. Cheers

slitty hat man is the v6 eggspert eal be along later. . .:)

sticky viz valves (arm and a leg) or throttle body? those wud, i wud have thort affected all cylinders tho. Try the obvious - leads and plugs furst. Just coz they are new dont mean they aint duff.

Thanks for that.Pretty sure the garage tried swapping them around but for some reason the misfire is only on 3 and 5. Is it possibly an ECU problem ?

check continuity from ecu to coils, make sure all pins are good and there are no broken wires etc.

Could be an ecu fault but i doubt it, make sure there are no air leaks too.
