The lower tailgate button isn't working on my 2008 L320 sport so I cant get access to the two lower screws to remove the plastic inner panel so how do I go about fixing it. I am assuming the switch needs replacing and its not a fuse issue.

Thanks,

Adrian

Always check, never assume.
I'm fairly sure that if you hold the lock & unlock buttons on the dash down together for a couple of seconds, the tailgate will release, otherwise you need diagnostics (or someone with diagnostics) to issue the command to the BCM

Does the radio work? Can you open the glove box? Valet mode locks these also. I would expect it's accessed by the touch screen settings, but I've never owned a sport

2008 is a 'Gen 1', so essentially the same as a L319 in terms of tech., the L322 was already well into it's second iteration by the time the L320 was launched.
BTW, I had many happy days at Gaydon with some of the pre-production vehicles - especially the 4.2SC variants, I think the record was sixteen in a row on the M40, all using adaptive cruise control at a speed I cannot recollect enough to type....
There's a couple of bridges that echo the exhaust note very well around there too, oh, don't turn off the DSC whilst someone else is driving without telling them before they throw it into the mini-roundabout at the entrance to Gaydon Village.... ;)
