Looking for advice

Hi am looking for some advice I am thinking of buying a Freelander sport td4 04 plate have been looking at a few from 92,000 miles to 40.000 miles some people say yes great car others say no stay well away.
My question is do the electrics and the water leaks still go wrong in the 04 models.Over all what would you adise me what to look out for when buying and would a 92,000 mile freelander be a good buy or not?

water leaks aint too much of a prob with the td4. Its the best of the bunch. Yu mite need to look at other bits tho - turbo, turbo hoses, vcu, etc. Minge or Clutchdust or Mondeo will be able to help yu on the doozil.

yup rally un welcome ,like flip flop man sis ,td4 best er the bunch the older doozels wernt bad as well. . .make sure ya got service history things to look out for , smooth power, no smoke no rear clunks , all doors lock un unlock, hill decent works, ya want it perfect really helps if yer know previous owner , then yer can grill them [Mrs ming likes ta torture em] even if they tell the truth ,still disbelieve em. . . .cos why would they sell it, , ,trust me their jist lying the scum bags. . . .oops I'm gittin all emulsional enorl, goin down the pub. . . .

The TD4 is the best of the bunch and the Sport version is optimised for onroad driving with slightly stiffer and lower suspension.

By this age, most of the problems with the early Freelander had been resolved.

Higher mileage vehicles might have been ex-rep or company cars so look out for worn seats.

A full LRSH is a good thing. There is a three year warrantee so it would be advantageous to find one with a little warrantee left.

Check all the bells 'n' whistles. When looking at a car for the first time I get in and literally go from left to right checking that every gadget and every switch does what I expect.

We have an 02 plate TD4 on 50,000miles and it has never missed a beat.

Electrics not so bad, water leaks still a big problem, got 3 in the workshop now all ****ing water into the lock box
