Hi guys
I've just bought a set of led's for my defender 110 2012. The reverse led don't have a plastic connecter like all the other lights. It has 2 wires, 1 black, 1 white. I know I will have to disconnect the battery to wire them up , but is there a quicker way ? Like taking a fuse out ? I'm not great when it comes to electrics..
Thanks for any response

Glyn

Reverse lights aren't live until the ignition switch is in position two and also the reverse is selected in the gearbox.
Thanks discool,
Is that the same with the fog light too ?because that's the same with live wires instead of plastic connector
Thanks in advance
Glyn

You could always buy a couple of connectors fit them to the leds and then just plug them in like the rest.
cheers Ian

In theory you should always isolate the power source when working on an electrical system, the reverse switch and ignition switch doesn't isolate the return line or any other electrical systems so you still need to be careful, on a landy its just as much effort to isolate the battery as get into the fuse box...

Thanks guys for all your help. Now, I'm having trouble locating the "flasher unit" to replace with the new one to work with the LED'S. My defender is a 2012 model. I've looked in the fuse box under seat and under dash below steering wheel. ,Cant see anything...please help !
Thanks in advance

Activate the hazards and hunt for the click of the relay.
