Hello. Off on hols next week for a couple of weeks. Whats the best state to leave the RR in ? fine as it is, disconnect the battery? any tips?

If its only two or three weeks lying idle and the battery is not known to be tired I`d leave it just as it is (powers the alarm/saves re-coding), but I`d fit the biggest/ strongest/ most visible steering wheel and/or pedal lock I could find, whether the car is garaged or not, and I`d arrange to leave the keys somewhere else but safe.
Lateral thought - if there is anything needs doing to the car whilst you are away you could drop it into your trusty service garage and tell them to use it as a filler job ? In my experience they are a bit cheaper if you let them work on your car when it is "quiet" for them. Looking after it and starting it when you get back becomes their problem !

Great idea.. hadn't thought about that. To be fair all my cash is going on hol right now - and am sure garages would find other thngs to do :) (does need the air springs replacing though.. )
anyway, I am leaving it over at my uncles, and he's a 30 yr veteran Sussex traffic plod. so should be ok on his drive boxed in by the 2#s and blues.. one would hope.

The airbags went on my LSE (just wore through) - just over £850 to replace just the airbags (leaving 17 year old compressor/wiring/pipework as the rest of the system but for who knows how long?) versus just over £400 to put it on coils - so thats what I`ve done. I do miss the air suspension - much more comfortable - but economics usally win.
Have good hols

£850!! whoa thats alot.. my local landy indy wants about £100 to fit all 4, and the springs aren't that much. Are you sure they didn't give you gold plated ones.. or maybe they were a pig to get off!?
Hoping to do them myself as doesn't see hard with RAVE to hand and the various threads on here.
Will have good hols, long time coming - thanks!

My 20 something neice sends me an email saying 'are you leaving your RR round my dads? if so can you stick me on the insurance for while you are away?"
Er.. no. This from the girl who wrote off 4 cars just getting off their driveway.

Is she fit? you could always say you'll look into it if she appeals to your better nature- then say the insurance company declined to offer cover.

dude.. we're related.. not sure getting some action from a family member appeals full stop.. regardless of insurance cost :)

depends if your blood relatives or not

If related via marriage then whats the issue, you failed to see there was never going to be her driving it- but interesting to see how she would appeal to your better nature.

lol - yup we are blood - I f**ked up with Niece, she's a cousin (been on a big family weekend and forgotten the terminology as they were all there)
Anyway, Daddy is her Daddy's brother - she's blood.
To be fair, was fit 10 years ago. Let herself go now :) - I can put a good word in though if you are around W Sussex ever
