Hello guys and girls. Recently purchased our first discovery td5 and got a couple leaks coming in from the driver and passenger side pillars by the windscreens, is this the sign of sun roof leaking or have I got to look out for something else? Any help would be appreciated Thankyou :)

Also , why you have the ceiling off.

Check the drain tubes are attached, / pipe connection is not broken, can be araldited back into place.

Take the sunroofs out and re seal around them and take the roof rails off and reseal those.

There are some good write ups on how to remove the ceiling.

Cheers

This is quite an easy job for you to try yourself.
If you have a garage fix every little thing wrong with your Disco, you're going to have to holiday at home, the years you own it.
It will drain your wallet very quickly.
There are loads of jobs you can attempt yourself following write ups found on the forum.
Good luck

There are a number of causes of leaking down the "side pillars" as you call them; it's easier to refer to them as the "A" posts. The "B" posts are where the front doors close against and so on.
Yes, it could be due to a leaking sunroof, only a strip down of the roof lining will confirm that.
They could also be due to a leak in the seal around the top of the windscreen. Some members have also found leaks in the sealing of the water channel rails around the outside of the vehicle.
Many people have tried usually unsuccessfully to use silicone sealer such as clear bathroom sealer, but it doesn't really do a proper job.
There is a product, some members have used it, I haven't but it does show some promise; http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_f...+tolley.TRS0&_nkw=captain+tolley&_sacat=76066
I've attached a copy of the water ingress manual, although it's far from complete, no wonder LR technicians could never find all the leaks.
