I only dabbled with my 4.4 transmission, and the was under the guidance of the man above and as he says - diagnostics is key as always.@holidaychicken did you not play with a 5.0 L322 gearbox, at one point? Or have I got you confused with one of the others?
I'm thinking that's low for a Range Rover. Can't remember what it should be, take a quick look around, you'll find the figures.Battery well charged at 12-70 volt I'm thinking it's electrical as when I switch off and restart it's OK, Rob
12.7 is fine engine off after a few hours.Depends if engine running or not, , I think it’s ok for engine off, engine running is 14.2-14.7 ish
sorry forgot to mention possible needs inlet manifold gasket.Hi guys, sorry for the late update but my problems are not over, had diagnostics done twice now, getting convicted results, first time came back as possible causes,
torque converter
solenoid
oil filter and oil.
second time miss fire on multiple cylinders, would this cause the down shift and irregular gear change, on the other note they want £1700 for a recon box, any help our put in the right track would be appreciated, thanks Rob

yes thanks for reply this all started about 4wks ago, took advise and had diagnostics done, just driving at 50mph ish gearbox down shifts then instantly changes back then it would do it again in a few minutes, then I get transmission fault, I then have to stop and restart all will be good for days then it comes back had test done and came back with possible causes no mention of misfire, then had a diagnostic done today came back with misfire and erratic gear change, I'm at a loss and lossing the willI have a gearbox saga on here, if you're in the mood to search. Long story short, you could be having the same issue I did: two faults, similar symptoms, everyone blaming gearbox and totally missing injector issue.
Just because you have one fault, doesn't mean you don't have more
If you have exhausted the possible, it is time to look at the impossibleyes thanks for reply this all started about 4wks ago, took advise and had diagnostics done, just driving at 50mph ish gearbox down shifts then instantly changes back then it would do it again in a few minutes, then I get transmission fault, I then have to stop and restart all will be good for days then it comes back had test done and came back with possible causes no mention of misfire, then had a diagnostic done today came back with misfire and erratic gear change, I'm at a loss and lossing the will
I can't remember if you have a friendly, local, indy. If not, find one. Look on local LZers to see who is near you, and ask who they useyes thanks for reply this all started about 4wks ago, took advise and had diagnostics done, just driving at 50mph ish gearbox down shifts then instantly changes back then it would do it again in a few minutes, then I get transmission fault, I then have to stop and restart all will be good for days then it comes back had test done and came back with possible causes no mention of misfire, then had a diagnostic done today came back with misfire and erratic gear change, I'm at a loss and lossing the will
