Just when it was all working funny noise from brakes

If you read page 836 on RAVe regarding sensor refit, it clearly states "Push the sensor into the bush until it makes contact with the reluctor ring. Automatic adjustment will take place when the ring is rotated" or words to that effect.

Yes unless your reluctor ring is running out .050" and wobbling about, the sensor is then pushed out until there is a .10" gap at one side and none at the other. Then it does not work. Mind you the bearing would have to be seriously screwed to get that much movement. I think i will say the measurment were for illustrative reasons only.

I recently replaced a sensor. All warning lights went out and all ok, so I thought. Sometimes on take off the TC would give a buzz like it was kicking in then clear once in second gear. Put it on live datastream on Launch and the one I'd changed was giving a lower speed reading until doing 10kmph then it caught up. Obviously the air gap was too great so I pushed it in a little bit more (touching the reluctor), spun the wheel which set the 'run out' with no high spot grinding noises, put it back on live stream and all readings equal. You'll get away with a little variation in air gap but not what I had which must have been about 2mm! (Still gave a reading though but too low and confused the system) That's what I've found.

Gents rear offside wheel bearing has movement so I guews its get the press out again knew when I did the fronts i should have done he rears ah well keep me busy tomorrow and monday will keep you posted

Well that would seem to be that. Good luck with the bearings. As has been said, you will never get a good gap on sensor with ring moving about.

Update more help required wheel bearing all done everything reassembled and working apart from the abs tc fault but I have noticed one thing and that is the pump runs every single time I press the brake pedal also if I hold it on the brake in traffic I can hear the pump kicking in for a second or two about every 30 seconds - is this normal or is the accumulator up the chuff oh and wheel bearing wasnt bad
