Firstly, Hi All...

I'm looking to purchase a RR Sport HSE 2006. It has 50k on the clock, has a full service history (dealer) and the non franchised dealer is asking £20995 for it.

I've test drove it today for about 2 hours in total, apart from a slight wobble on the steering at about 55mph, all seems to be working and in good condition.

Now... I normally buy my cars from franchised dealers and as such, I get a minimum 12 month dealer warranty, so forgive me if I sound OVER cautious, but I just want to ensure I've not missed anything obvious and if I could get your inputs on what can and does go wrong with these cars please.. I would really appreciate any information.

details:

I've got till 11am tomorrow (Wednesday) to make my mind up if I want to go forward with it.. so any quick feedback on the deal would be greatly appreciated. ps.. I have carried out a full HPI check and all is clear.

Is an extended warranty a good idea? they seem expensive but there again, its a lot of car i suppose..

Might be an idea to use the 'Introduce Yourself' section before this..but..

Haggle..its a buyers market..start at silly figure and meet somewhere near what you want..

Gert an extended warranty from one of those places on the net..about £30 a month...well worth it, even just for 1st year. You wont get much labour for £300 so even one repair will cover the outlay..

Get the wobble sorted...tyres? Tracking? Whatever...it'll only get worse and you may struggle to get it covered if you didnt mention it.

Will intro myself...

I'm looking at extended warranty but there seems to be big price differences in them all. Don't suppose there is a good one that people have used and can recommend?

Also, Yep, I did mention the wobble.. the independent is giving me a 3 month warranty (full cover) to start with, so will take out an extended one (once I find a good one) from then on.

3 month warranty?? Forget it...he's bound by law for at least 2 years.

Interesting.

This is an independent car dealer not franchised.. The car is June 2006 registered so its now 5 years old..

Are you sure he is bound by law for that period?
