It's become a bit of a project!

Completely failed to change the pads but the lad helped me clean off the moss (!) and bring back a certain sheen to the old gal. Wished she was roadworthy tonight as we've had a few inches of the white stuff and it's still coming down.

How you getting on with the old girl now?

The weather's been horrible so I haven't been able to do much more, let alone dare to take a camera out. I did manage to drop the silvered bulbs into the new clear indicators mind you (absolutely essential maintenance you understand ) and they look great, just need a break in the wind and rain so I can address the welding and brake pad replacement.

The photo you reference above is a classic dodgy arch repair and it worries me too. I have the replacement panel and the arch I'm welding to is sound but there's bugger all original material to butt up to on the rear quarter panel so I think I'll need to fabricate some form of bracket... hahaha that should be fun - me, fabricating... pfft!!!

Before I get to that though I have a new problem. The wind has been horrific this last week (like a hurricane today) and I've no idea how or why it happened but as we stood at the back door having a sneaky cigarette yesterday the rear window exploded!!! So I need to find new glass for the R/H Rear door but don't know of any breakers nearby.

Anyone know somewhere I could find a new window near Uttoxeter?

Ok, pics sorted (an old domain expired so I've moved them and re-linked to the new site).
Had a busy morning, I found a rear arch in Paddocks, just up the road from me and have welded it in place. First thing I ever welded if you don't include a tack on an old garden gate made from 1/4 inch steel with zero chance of blowing through!

It's a messy fix, but more importantly I can raise the old girl by lifting arch so the puddle welds are solid enough



Sadly though, the inner arch is a different story and peeling back the carpet revealed this bloody mess...




Gutted.

Oh and I had another idea about the doors - the existing ones have electric windows but the circuit has been shot for years so the kids always moaned about them not opening, so I'm going to try and find a non-electric donor and just have manual winders in the back. Less to break in future!
