Im currently looking to buy a 110 and want to know what i can do to make sure its all legit and not stolen.

obviously i can check seller has the v5 and do a HPI check, but what else?
reason i ask, im off to view a landy and ive been told someone tried to steal it at weekend so has damage to ignition, ok fair enough. But its also recently had full respray.

What should i be looking out for?

check no on front drivers side chassis rail in front of pas box even if you cant read it you can see if its been tampered or removed ,vin plate rerivetted ,seat belts wndow glass same year of manufacture

there is a hexagon shaped hole both on passenger and drivers side chassis between the outrigger an the back of wheel it has the year of manufacture, so say the landy is 1992 it will say 92 there are also yellow stickers behind the speedo inter light rapped around the wire it will have the time and date it came off the production line.

Hi. I have been burnt once when buying a Landy 110 so now know all the info you need. Landys are at the moment the no1 stolen/sold on vehicle. They are easy to do thats why the scum bags in this country do it.

It depends on the age you are looking at, check the V5 for ALL details, engine number, chassie and on later ones they should have a number in the bottom right hand windscreen,,,,also the hidden number is on the p/s dumb iron under the p/s foot plate. Also the best thing you can do is ring or pop into a Landy dealer, give them the reg number and they will give you it's birth certificate details, that has the gearbox, transfer box, engine number, axle numbers chassie, engine and also full details of what the Landy should be, most dealers are happy to do so as they are as ****ed off with theft like we are. If you need any more info as I have lots as become a bit of a mission give me a shout and will help you out.

Happy (non stolen) hunting
Rob

ill gather it all together for when i go have a look at a few.

....also the hidden number is on the p/s dumb iron under the p/s foot plate. ....

When you say hidden number under the P/S footplate are you referring to the vin number you can see by looking under the wheel arch (after lots of scraping) or do you mean you have to remove the p/s box to see it?
