Hi all,

Just got my first Range Rover, 1995 4.6 Autobiography, just working my way through the niggles, need some advice on the interior door handle. The passanger side front door release dose not work, I have removed the trim and can see the release cable with its bent metal tip which fits into the hole in the door handle, if you put it back in, it works a couple of time and pops out again, some genius has tried gluing it in with a hot glue gun at some point! There is a green plastic insert which the bent metal end fits into but it looks like it is missing a bit, looking at new release cables it look like mine is as it should be so I suspect it need a new insert? Are these available? Or is it a new door handle? Moved to this from a Grand Cherokee, what a difference!

The plastic "Sleeve" you refer to which is at the end of the outer cable is not available separately as far as I am aware. You will need a new cable unless you can find a way of retaining it in the steel latch bracket.:behindsofa:

Hi, the plastic insert goes into the door handle itself, not part of the cable, the cable finishes in a metal hook that fits into a hole in the door handle that has the green insert in it.

I was thinking of the latch end.
The clips do not come separately,it's a complete handle assembly needed unless you can get one from a breakers or improvise.
