Hi,
Stephen here from Dublin,
I have been a motorbike adventure rider in the past ... Argentina2Alaska's Photo Albums at Footstops.com - Free Travel Map & Photo Blog for Travellers
but for africa I have decided to UPGRADE ...to a 4wheeler.. 4x4 of choice DEFENDER....
So, I have just bought a 1995 Defender with 350,000 on the clock, but we are going to swap in a different 300tdi engine with 60,000 which is part of the sale.
My first question is while we are in there swapping out the engine for a less used engine, should we
A) replace the clutch (just cos we are in there) .. or
B) Upgrade the clutch to a higher performance one (friend suggested this, but i am sure the standard clutch would be worthy)
or
C) do none (as the clutch does not seem to have any issues, ....but there is 350,000 on it so far)
and secondly should we replace anything else while we are swapping out the engine? - Waterpump was suggested
Will start looking at these sites for parts and ideas.. other links welcome.
