2000 Disco Series II

Just got this Disco about three weeks ago - it's my third. Prev had a 2002 and a 2001.

After I turn off the car and get out I hear a loud "whoosh" noise of air escaping. Is this normal? I'm assuming it has to do with the air suspension.. It's been happening the last week or so. Unsure if I just didn't hear it before...?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

If it is when or after you get out of the car (assuming it is a 7-seater) it is the sls suspension adjusting to the fact that the car is now lighter, to maintain it's std height.

Follow-up question now that I know that's normal... sometimes when I come out in the morning it's about six inches lower in the rear than it normally is. Not every morning... doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it that I can figure out yet.

Thanks again.

You've got leaking air bags at the rear. Assuming I'm right (99% of all sls problems are caused by leaking airsprings) I would advise that you change them VERY soon before you overwork the air compressor until it drops

New airbags should really be changed in pairs and can be bought from Paddocks:

RKB101200 Rear Air Spring - including 2x NTC9449 clips (WEB EXCLUSIVE SPECIAL OFFER)

It is a very easy diy job to change the air springs, takes about 15-20 mins each side.
