Hi there,

I'm in the process of reassembling my '92 3.9 after refitting a new engine, and have some unknown wires underbonnet.

If anyone is out there who can pop out to theirs and see where they go - I'd be very grateful...

the following are unknown wires...

As viewed from the drivers seat, the LHS of the engine bay.
There are two wires coming from the main harness near the coil amd cruise module - a brown wire and a white and green one - where do these go?

Also, there is a white wire on the engine harness - it comes off the Air flow meter branch of the harness - a white wire.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike.

From what i can make out, the 2 coming off the main harness are white/green and brown/black. check your brown one, it may be black aswell.
on my 93 these two wires are not conected to anything, maybe spare??.

The white one which comes from by the air flow meter goes to the coil, as you look at the coil end on, there are 4 spade connectors. it goes on to the top r/h spade connector.

Thanks for that - I was too tired to think straight last night, so missed the detail in the diagrams. Looked again this morning with fresh eyes, and a brain in gear, and I've found them.

I've investigated the diagrams that I have, and the 1992 MY had a connection on the harness for trailer electrics - in particular split charge.
The Brown (could be Brown/Black) is the battery feed, the White and light green is the switched input to the relay.

And yes, I've found the white wire on the engine harness too - it's the engine speed signal to the ecu...

Still - a big thanks for confirming it for me - it's always good to have a second opinion.

Mike.
