Heating oil+grants help

Spoke to mum. Sounds as if he should be getting disability living allowance, and or incapacity benefit. Might help pay the bills!

I'll ask in a round about way, tried to get him to call the advice line-may have a go again this week.

He doesn't like feeling he is a burden on society- I'd thought three strokes and verified back problem would class as genuine case.

Ask the question mate you got to try they wont help you unless you push one of the customers that comes in shop his brother 2 strokes fook'd back and chest probs but been reassessed and been taken off as fit for light work:doh::doh:
 
Dont know if its the same as up here, but you can buy drums of hearting oil. Think its the same price as buying in bulk per litre. Dont know if he'd maybe manage to buy a smaller amount more often or not.

that's an idea as well, I'm going to get him to call the advice line and also find out about smaller amounts of heating oil in containers.
 
Might be worth checking out the Energy Saving Trust. They list all kinds of grants etc for various things - usually insulation improvements but still worth having.

I don't know how we're going to afford to refill our oil tank this time either.
