Heated front screen advice please

Hi new to the Landrover TD5, heated front screen doesn’t seem to activate, dashboard switch doesn’t latch or light up
I know (hope) it’s not rocket science but could anybody give me a clue where to start fault finding please?

Try starting with the fuse if the switch is not working it has got to be further back unless the switch has had it ( multimeter ) welcome to the forum

It needs power, power comes via a switch which powers a relay via a fuse.

Is this a factory fitted heated screen or has a previous owner fitted it ?

Has it got a heated screen? They were not standard on all, even with switches and conectors etc. It also could have a non heated screen fitted after a breakage. Look under the bonet to see if the connectors, conect to the screen.

It should be fairly obvious if it's heated. The elements are easy to see

Finally...i was waiting for somebody to ask the right question ...even though i'll respect my own decision(with red in the signature) and keep watching with interest

yes it’s OEM and I can see the connections on the screen etc I think these were standard on the X Tech

I retro fitted one to my 2004 td5 def ( using LR parts) details in my build thread etc
