Impressive! I'd like to do something like that with mine but don't have the space. I've done my share of cill, wheel arch and inner wing patches though not to mention various electrical gremlin hunts and bits of engine work. Heck it's a Range Rover, that's why we love 'em (don't we??)

I did/do but I am wearing thin with this autobox and so is the bank balence!

I hope the 200 mile trip I did in the storms yesterday miraculously fixed it, I will find out if it has in the morning :5bAngel_anim:

Got mine back from the anti-rust shop on Saturday last week after having the bulkhead welded, the rear floor replaced and the mahoosive hole in the chassis done.
Cleaned, rustproofed and painted the inside of the of the rear and am just about able to get in the car without getting high from the paint fumes now !!!! Next job is to replace the front end and then rebuild the spare 3.9 and drop that in but am going nowhere near the auto-box till it dies....sills seem to be well protected by brooklands skirts..hooray !!

Yeah good choice leave it alone, let it fail then have an autobox spcailist fit a good used box!

When we looked at the car the only things I found wrong were a couple of small rust holes in the front inner wings. Body work was in good condition apart from a small amount of rust on the upper tailgate and a small dent on the rear near side light panel.

Bloody sills had the plastic covers on. Underneath looked quite sound. (underseal by the gallon hides a lot I suppose) It wasnt until I started doing the work that I came across the rest of the problems.

Anyone got a bridge they want to sell lol.

Yeah them sill covers fecked me right up. I thought I was finished after the boot floor and the arches, got a local mechanic/rr enthusiast to have a look and he went straight to the sills and the drivers side was fecked!

Feck that I didnt even take the bumper off when I did mine lol. nah,if you swap my autobox out Ill patch up your crossmsmber lol. I got not gas at the mo, cant get the feckin valve off to fill the cylinder.

I know what You mean, it was the day before I went to start my boot floor, in my tea break at work I though I will just crack the fuel tank shield nuts to make sure it will come out ok tomorrow. Guess what, it started ****in out, feck had to drive it home like that, the fecker had rusted through. the v8 end still used more on the way back though lol

What mpg you get, I am at 9.3- can it be right

On LPG i'm getting about 11 atm. It needs setting up again. used to get around 15

Yeah , Mine must be rich then as I managed 12 on the motorway at 65 and 9.3 round town. Plus my plugs are black. any ideas? it has perfect emmisions at idle on the test machine.

while you guys are on the subject of lpg...i have bought a j reg with lpg kit and was wondering if the j reg kit will run the m reg 3.9....doesnt matter if it doesn't but if it does then i can sneak that on as well as all the other parts that i am stockpiling.

Cheers, Nick.

The M reg has a cat. Does the J Reg?
If so you should be able to fit it.

Hi, no it doesn't have any cats...does this mean the ecu for the gas won't cope or will it just mess up the petrol map (so to speak). When i took the kit off the J reg it was only attached to the injector system wiring, with a single point lpg supply on the air intake
Cheers, Nick.

Not sure if it can be fitted.

Your J reg system sounds similar to mine (89 G plate) an open loop system. There is no oxygen sensor on them.

The closed loop is designed for cars with cats and oxygen sensors (upto 2000 models)
Not sure if you can use an open loop system with cats. Check with somewhere like Gas4cars.com
