Ok then,i have just replaced front callipers, disks, pads.Rear pads and disks and replaced all brake lines.I have bled all of the old fluid and replaced with new!.
The problem i have is that after hitting the brakes hard, which work pretty well,if i push the pedal again straight away they go hard and give very little braking. The last couple of days when i start the old girl the brake pedal is solid for a few seconds then returns to normal.
It is a Disco1 300tdi auto.
Im thinking master cylinder but could it be something else, servo etc?

Looking forward to any advice.....well nearly any advice, sure i will get some thats not so helpfull
Regards
Terry.

Check that you havn't dislodged the vac pipe from the servo like I did when doing mine:eek::eek:

the one way valve in the servo and the hose to engine if it has a hole in it your getting no or very little assistance

Right i have checked the hoses which appear to be ok but when i pulled the hose off of the check valve i found oil in the in it,is this normal?
The pedal only goes hard when first started or idling in traffic,at low revs,im thinking that somwhere a seal has gone or i have a hole.Any ideas on other places to check?
Regards
Terry.

Took the pipe off and put my hand on the end of it,stuck to my hand.
I dropped the rubber in to the vacuum servo unit, fished it back out with a bit of wire and discovered about 3 inches of oil in the bottom?
