freelander 1.8 cutting out?????

Hello, hope someone can help!!
I have a 1.8 petrol freelander, problem is it runs for about half hour before cutting out. I normally let it wait for 5 minuates before starting it up again, it starts up and then again after 10 mins it starts to cut out again. whilst this is happening i can hear the petrol pump whining away.
What could be the problem?

hi budge . . .check your fuel filter 1st, sounds like its blocking. . .:)
