Freelander 02 alarm problem??

Hi all occasionally when I open the car the alarm beeps until the key is inserted, yesterday when I went to get out of the car the alarm beeped, I closed and locked the car with the key, the alarm red light flashes in the dash... just thought it was an odd anomaly.
This morning the car is totally dead no lights nothing... could this be a problem with the alarm???

Ok cars up and running and to be .Safe use put a new battery in fob now it doesn't want to work the central locking...how do I decide the key back to the car?

Either five presses of unlock button near dash binnacle, bottom of screen, or one long press of lock then unlock
