Can any one give me any pointers on how to power the fuel filter heating wires?

The bloke at FW is really helpful, he'll do a kit to your own specs or mod an existing kit if required.
Those VOW2 heaters are pretty damn good - if I didn't have one i'd snap D71's arm off.

Dead easy -
It's just a 30 amp relay, with the coil fed from the ignition circuit, and a suitable load taken from the battery or fusebox for the elements. Simple, safe, easy.
All ya need to source additionallyis a thermal safety switch to put inline on the coil feed to stop it overheating the filter / oil.
**edit** I'm sure the FW kits actually self regulate, being a simple element based heater wire, they'll only reach a certain temperature and then peak. **edit**

and a thermal switch so it dont operate above 5deg C - stops yu wasting electricity heating summat wot dont need heating.

Sounds simple enough, should be able to get my hands on some heating tapes / wire from work, electrics not my strong point but im sure the guys in our maintenance dept will be happy to help me out. will be working on this 1st thing monday morning haha thanks allot for the info guys!

Yeah, but ideally you need to keep SVO or WVO @ a good feed temp, preferably 30 - 50 deg.
Makes it atomize better at the injectors but more importantly stops the injector pump blowing up cos of pulling through the thicker fuel.
Although over here in blighty, it's not really that much of a concern, until late autumn that is when things start going a little.... chillier.

hahaha, we will see what i can find on monday mate, think the stuff we use at work has a range from 40 deg to 70 deg.

Yup. Same one i run on Mucky. I ran a double plug on my merc ages ago, worked a treat.
I ran my laser thermometer on mine the other day - heats up to 62deg and cuts out. Cuts back in at appx 48deg.

That's perfect. You can reduce the temperature range by installing a suitable resistor in-line if needs must.
Wires only pull about 10 amps at full load, so it's not a huge drain on the electrical system. add a thermal cut out and it'll be even less

I have been making biodiesel for my old girl for sometime now without any problems. I dont use caustic because it is not as forgiving as potassium. I am by no means an expert. If anybody would like some wvo or even run their own through my processor, let me know.

is your offer for processable WVO, or strained minimal fat WVO ? I don't bother processing the oil I manage to get, i just strain it lots and shove it in the tank.
I don't have a good supply near me, but i don't mind paying a good rate for 50 ltrs of useable oil from a local supplier....
