Guys and Gals

I have a bit of a proud announcement to make.

We have only gone and actually done it ;)
And i gotta say the results are well worth the wait :)

For anyone counting, it has actually taken us just on 6 long months, but at long last we now have the low cost Fault code reader / clearer (Faultmate FCR) for all systems on a P38 available from our web shop and our Ebay shop.

Sadly, due to technical troubles with the BBS domain all BBS sites are currently off line till i find out who to blame and kick. But i am taking a small number of these to Billing with me, as i am visiting and helping out on the BAS (Bell Auto services) stand who is one of our distributors.

Anyway just thought to let you all know the good news.

The important bit is how much? An ad without the price aint worth a light;)

Sorry Datatek
All FCR Kits are 199 GBP, discounted by 10% for established Landyzone members, making about 180 GBP, plus VAT@15% if you don't have a valid VAT number to give us, then plus P&P at about 20 GBP IIRC.

The shipping costs might seem a tad expensive if you are more used to having stuff shipped by the post office within the UK, rather than air freighted 3000 odd miles from Cyprus. But then if we produced these in the UK, they would cost twice as much to start with .

BTW that is an area where our distributors have quite an advantage with, hence i mention the BAS / Billing aspect.

Our Ebay shop price is actually inflated to accomodate their charges plus some of the shipping to lower the percieved shipping costs, as Ebay is sensitive about this aspect and most don't appreciate how much it really costs.

Hiya Ladyrange ;)
Six months does seem like a long time to develop this, especially from a company who everyone knows has done this from scratch already on at least 2 diffferent hardware platforms and really does know what they are doing, as we are hardly re inventing the wheel. But then that just goes to show how god damned awkward and tricky these earlier systems are to cover as there is little to no standardisation between them.

Here is a list of the ECU's that the FCR can read and clear fault codes from every bit as well as a dealer tool can

LUCAS GEMS Lucas GEMS Petrol Engine Management System to 1999
BOSCH EDC Bosch Diesel Engine Management System
BOSCH MOTRONIC Bosch Motronic Petrol Engine Management System 1999 on
TRW MPS TYPE 1 Airbag System – to 1996
TRW SPS TYPE 1 Airbag System – 1996 -1999
TRW SPS TYPE 2 Airbag System – 1999 onwards
WABCO C TYPE Anti Lock Braking/Traction Control to 1999
WABCO D TYPE Anti Lock Braking/Traction Control 1999 onwards
LUCAS EAS Electronic Air Suspension
VALEO HEVAC Climate Control
BOSCH GS2.38 Automatic Gearbox to 1999
BOSCH GS8.87.1 Automatic Gearbox 1999 onwards
HELLA CRUISE Cruise Control - Petrol Engines 1999 onwards

The BeCM is not listed as it does not have a fault code memory function.

Despite any hopes and dreams, i really do not think anyone will ever be able to beat this capability or price and almost certainly not within a time frame where having this little baby in the glove box will not have already saved any owner it's cost many times over, and it can also be re sold and so owners can re coup most of it's purchase cost. But just imagine what adding it to the sale of a vehicle will raise the vehicles re sale price by.

On a personal note, i can tell you straight up that if this were our only equipment or our first equipment to cover P38, and you must appreciate that others have yet to reach even that stage. i would definately want and expect much more for it than it is currently priced at. You can also all hopefully appreciate that 6 months of development is really costly and for sure it has cost us / me much more to add this model than the others it covers, but yet we still offer it at the same price.

However we are a very advanced company and our current focus really is on much later LR Vehicles, hence why we added P38 last to the FCR and we have already sold several hundred of them. So i have no problem with producing and supplying FCR's for owners of P38's at what should and could be considered as a gift of a price. After all todays P38 owners will ultimately become owners of later LR's in due course anyway.

To make this a bit interesting, i will offer a free P38 FCR to the first person to say "hi I am a Landyzone member with a P38 that could really do with an FCR" on Petes stand at Billing this year"

Colin...you Charmer...you could sell sand to the Arabs.
:hysterically_laughi

Best of luck with the new piece of kit.
No doubt it will get the same great feedback as all your other products that people have purchased.

Regarding the "Free" RSW stuff, I think you guys that are sitting on the fence waiting for it, the fence will have woodworm before you get it and you are in for a shock !!!

Hiya MHM
Oh yea, most couriers are dead sneaky and have an up to 500G catagory as their minimum offer. So we could ship 3 FCR's for the same price as one. If we shipped 5 or 10 the price really does not go up by much. So a distrib buying 10 of more units not only gets a better bulk discount from us but also saves a shed load on the shipping costs too.

If 10 landyzone members got their act together and in a group buy ordered 10 FCR's shipped to the same address, they would not only get 20% discount from us but also save vastly on shipping costs.

In fact, if 10 members sign up between now and Wednesday, i will deliver 10 FCR's with 20% off thats just 188 with VAT to any UK address free of any Cyprus to UK delivery charge.

do you not think that people will think that it's too cheap??
like you say you've spent 6 months developing it, and the cost of labour, testing and everything else you'll need to sell 1000's to break even....all i can say is you must really love your job and you're too nice a guy;)

Hiya IrishRover
I did once sell snow to the eskimos, but then i told em it was part of the snowball Di threw at charles on TV at cloisters LOL

Thanks for your comments of support for this most newest aspect of our product range
As you expect, this really is a very real, well tested and capable bit of kit.
In fact given that previously all other equipment i am used to and that has been properly capable of reading and clearing faullt codes on a P38, has been PC based, it actually feels a little surreal even to me to have a bit if kit i can hold in my hand that does exactly the same and it does take a bit if getting used to.

So, why would i need one?? (sorry colin!;)) the display comes up with the faults doesn't it, so why would i need another bit of kit to tel me the same? or does it come up with other faults that i would not know about??
