MAP sensor arrived this morning in post as I have Code P0405 pOwertrain EGR sensor A circuit low.

Changed the MAP sensor and when it warms up error is back again and onto reduced power. Turbo lever is free moving and diesel and air filter are new. Able to rev freely from cold but the fault seems to be heat related, turbo pipes are not leaking but could collapse a bit I guess when hot.

Local indie will be next port of call I guess. Long time since my trade time but it hurts and its not just money, modern electronics aren't they

Could be crud in EGR but indie was sceptical when I asked. Over to him on Wednesday

So come on you experts what next ?

MAF sensor is responsible for monitoring EGR feedback.
There is no EGR while the engine is cold, so there's nothing to report.
Try unplugging the MAF and see what happens.

I have this from a on line manual but no mention MAP or MAF so wht controls the EGR Valve position I guess is the question ?
P040500Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor A Circuit Low
EGR Valve position sensor voltage below lower limit
Carry out the pinpoint tests associated with this DTC using the manufacturer approved diagnostic system

Ignore my previous post. I assumed you were referring to the FL1 TD4 engine.
The FL2's EGR valve is controlled electronically. There's a stepper motor and feedback circuit. So it could actually be the EGR valve it's self. The Ford TDCI engine has a problem with it's EGR valve failing, giving a similar fault code. As the FL2 engine is a similar design, it could well suffer the same problem.
